I live in Western Massachusetts, where the drivers are psychotic, the politicians are histrionic, and the weather is schizophrenic. The summers are humid beyond all sense of reason, and the winters, which last about six months, are practically malevolent. Spring is nice, for the five seconds that it's with us, but fall is really the time of year that makes all the rest worth while. Indeed, there is nothing quite so fine as autumn in New England.
